If you are planning to repair a system or container holding a controlled refrigerant, you need to be certified according to section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act. This act says that all individuals who maintain, repair, or service appliances containing regulated refrigerants should be certified by passing EPA 608 examination. EPA 608 technician certification consists of the following four sections- Core- It covers basic knowledge about refrigerants and their regulation. Learning the core section well can help you understand the further section materials. A core is not a certification itself, but a person should pass core and at least one more section if he wishes to get a certification card.
